Traditionally, the combined Open House and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Friends of the Tay Watershed was held in the fourth quarter of the year. In 2006, the Open House (Watershed Discovery Evening) was held in November, while the Annual General Meeting (AGM) was moved to the first quarter of 2007. Since then Watershed Discovery has been held separately and in 2009 it was moved to an afternoon format at EcoTay.

Watershed Discovery Day , which is open to the general public, typically brings together a wide range of organizations to provide environmental displays of interest to people in the watershed.
