Wastewater Garden
at the Centre for Sustainable Watersheds

The Centre for Sustainable Watersheds is pleased to announce the installation of a Wastewater Garden at their headquarters in Portland-on-the-Rideau.  The Wastewater Garden is a zero-discharge, biological wastewater treatment system that uses plants to grow wastewater away.  Zero-discharge is key, as it eliminates contaminants of ground and surface waters.

This installation was made possible by:

  • Queen's University Department of Civil Engineering
  • National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program
